We advised this client on the legal aspects of a new e-commerce website for its building supplies business. This involved the preparation of terms and conditions of sale, terms of website use, a privacy policy and a cookie policy. The website is directed at both business and consumer customers so it was important to distinguish clearly between those terms there were applicable to one category of customer only and those which applied to both types.
In drafting the privacy policy we were careful to ascertain the classes of personal information collected from customers and other visitors to the website and whether it was likely that any of that information would be transferred to recipients outside the EU and/or further afield.
We were able to provide this client with a comprehensive but user-friendly suite of documents, which can easily be adapted if necessary to reflect changes to the operation of the website or the relevant law.
