We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Debt Recovery team in our Bourne End office.
This exciting position at our growing and ambitious law firm in the heart of England will be managing a portfolio of Debt Recovery cases from inception to conclusion in our Property Recovery team.

Job Role:
This varied role is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly and approachable team, working with highly experienced Secretaries, Solicitors, and Directors.
Responsibilities of the role would include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a portfolio of debt recovery cases from inception through to conclusion, paying particular attention to cases subject to court proceedings and enforcement
- Telephone collections
- Responding to queries and disputes raised by customers and liaise with clients for information on such disputes and seeking instructions where required
- Agreeing payment plans on terms satisfactory to the client
- Conducting title searches at HM Land Registry
- Drafting and issuing claims
- Requesting judgment
- Reviewing cases where judgment has been secured for the purposes of enforcement
- Managing defended matters in small claims
- Managing enforcement of judgments via appropriate means and with third party agents.
- Seeking client instructions throughout litigation matters and providing updates where necessary
- Answering collection-based queries raised by colleagues and assisting the team when issues arise
- Developing strong relationships with clients
Knowledge & Skills:
- Have a strong understanding of the leasehold and freehold property collection process, including knowledge of the initial pre-action protocol stage through to enforcement
- Demonstrate an awareness of the professional standards required when working within a regulated law firm and the importance of delivering a quality service to our clients
- Self-motivated, organised with the ability to prioritise, be agile and manage own workload
- Good working knowledge of County Court small claim issuing and defended matters
- Adhere to SRA rules
- Demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate
- Strong negotiation skill
