We are hiring a Risk and Compliance Assistant here at SE-Solicitors on a part-time basis, located at our Banbury office.

Job Role:
As a self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, and confident AML and Risk Compliance Officer, you will report to the Compliance Manager. You will own, support, and execute a wide range of compliance activities, collaborating to ensure our firm adheres to all relevant regulations and mitigates risks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Support the RQC Manager in monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring firm-wide adherence to policies and procedures including Lexcel.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and review of new and existing AML, financial crime, and general compliance policies, controls, and procedures.
- Provide advice and guidance to staff on basic AML and compliance matters.
- Assist with internal audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain various Risk & Compliance records and registers.
- Provide general administrative support to the Risk & Compliance team.
- Collaborate effectively with various internal stakeholders across departments (e.g., finance, legal, operations).
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and initiatives as determined by the RQC Manage.
Overview: The Compliance Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the firm’s adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, with a particular focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), GDPR, Lexcel and broader risk control measures. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong communication, time-management, and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to focus on regulatory requirements and take initiative.
- Experience with compliance monitoring systems.
- Systems and database skills – Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of AML regulations and risk management practices.
- Knowledge of SRA Code of Conduct.
- Familiarity with requirements of the GDPR.
Person Specification:
- Highly motivated self-starter and highly organised.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to establish credibility and strong working relationships with the firm’s management team, lawyers, and employees with an efficient mix of confidence, tact, patience, and persistence.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
- Excellent attention to detail, flexibility, and resourcefulness, team-oriented, ability to work independent.
