We are currently recruiting for a Litigation Assistant to join our Debt Recoveries team in our Banbury office.

This exciting position at our growing and ambitious law firm in the heart of England will be working in the International Debt Recovery team.

Key Responsibilities

 

Debt Recovery Support (International and UK)

  • Assist in managing case strategies, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Advise clients on jurisdictional considerations and enforcement prospects.
  • Support and coordination of debt recovery proceedings in jurisdictions outside England and Wales.

Communication

  • Answer incoming calls from clients, debtors, and agents in a professional manner.
  • Dealing with inbound and outbound emails to clients, debtors and agents
  • Provide clear and accurate guidance to clients on the most appropriate course of action.

Administrative & Financial Duties

  • Process supplier invoices promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare and issue client bills in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Preparing client remittances

Legal Research & Information Management

  • Conduct searches using Companies House, Insolvency Register, and Land Registry.
  • Identify vulnerable debtors and manage files in line with compliance and ethical standards.

Document Preparation & Case Management

  • Draft and issue pre-legal correspondence, including letters before action, settlement proposals, and pre-action protocol letters.
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing legal documents.
  • Monitor ongoing legal matters and keep clients updated on progress.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
