28 divorce petitions with identical wording?

October 13th 2021

If you have ever wondered if judges actually read what we sent them, here is confirmation that they do. A Deputy District Judge at Bury St Edmunds Divorce Unit picked up on 28 petitions with identical wording and referred them to a High Court judge who dismissed the lot.

The company responsible had some explaining to do and it emerged that they drafted standard wording and then relied on their clients to say if anything was wrong. This is the exact opposite of what should happen, solicitors work out exactly why a client wants to divorce,  then what ground is appropriate and tailor wording according to their circumstances. One size does not fit all.

All the clients are back at square one, with more fees to pay and an unregulated advice company having cost them time and money.

One size does not fit all.
