The sponsorship ensures the club has enough balls and equipment to meet the developmental needs of its junior tennis club, with this year also seeing Spratt Endicott sponsor the Junior AEGON League team’s shirts.
The West End juniors have had a successful year to date, with the under 8 age group coming second in Oxfordshire in the AEGON team tennis for 2017. Two individual players also received three Oxfordshire tennis awards between them in recognition of their achievements, while three further players have achieved the prestige of playing for the county.
Five teams are currently competing in the Oxfordshire junior winter league, with five teams also set to compete in this year’s summer league where the club is hoping to continue its run of success.
Jenny Edwards, Head Coach at Banbury West End tennis club, commenting on the sponsorship, said: “Because of Spratt Endicott’s support, we have been able to deliver more beneficial coaching with the additional equipment and good quality balls, which have helped the teams to achieve the successes they’ve seen over the past year. Having all the necessary equipment available – thanks to Spratt Endicott – helps to maintain engagement with our programmes, ensuring we continue to attract enthusiastic youngsters who love playing tennis.”
Spratt Endicott is a leading Legal 500 Oxfordshire law firm with offices in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, with its head office in Banbury. The philosophy of the firm is centred on its local community, which sees it sponsor several local endeavours, with Banbury’s West End tennis club just one of the many regional causes Spratt Endicott supports.
John Spratt, Chairman of Spratt Endicott Solicitors said: “We’re delighted to sponsor the West End junior team again for 2018/2019. Our local community is central to our business ethos, so offering support to regional endeavours is hugely important to us. Having long been connected to the club, and indeed a past captain of the West End tennis club’s ‘A’ team, it goes without saying that I’m an enthusiastic supporter on a personal level, so it’s fantastic that we’re able to help them in a professional capacity too.”
Rosie Clark, who runs the junior coaching programme, said: “We’re a very friendly club, for all ages and abilities, ranging from adults down to juniors aged 3+. The Junior Term Time programme has over 100 weekly participants, many of whom also represent the club in the five teams we enter into the Oxfordshire leagues, as well as in fixtures against local schools. We are very grateful for Spratt Endicott’s sponsorship of our junior team t-shirts and coaching balls this year. It’s a real aid towards the successful delivery of our programmes.”
