We are excited to announce our partnership with Tennis Oxfordshire, and our sponsorship of Padel Tennis at their Junior Tennis Festival next week.
Tennis Oxfordshire works across the county, helping to promote and develop the sport, whilst ensuring continued access to courts for people of all ages to play.
The Junior Tennis Festival runs from Sunday 20th to Saturday 26th August, with single and doubles matches for those aged 8-18 who are keen to test their ability and compete with their peers.
On Wednesday 23rd August at 5pm, Tennis Oxfordshire are hosting a Summer Social with drinks and snacks that is open to all, allowing people to have a go at Padel Tennis. This will be held at the Oxford Sports Tennis Club in North Hinksey Village.
Padel Tennis is a form of tennis that is easy to play, fun and extremely sociable. The game is played in enclosed doubles courts. This makes Padel a mixture between Tennis and Squash, as the walls are used as part of the game, with the balls allowed to bounce off them. Unlike tennis, it is not dominated by strength and technique, meaning it is perfect for men, women, youth and elderly to play all together.
We are particularly excited to sponsor Padel Tennis at the Junior Tennis festival as, not only are we always keen to support our local clubs, but we are keen to encourage the creation of accessible sport and activities, improving the health and social wellbeing of young and elderly alike.
Three Padel courts are available for adults and juniors who are interested in having a game to come along and try it out. Our team are greatly looking forwarding to attending and having a go at Padel Tennis, and are always keen to engage in a bit of friendly competition!
