Our highly experienced corporate team recently enabled the establishment of Streets Eadie Young Chartered Accountants.
Hitendra Patel, Head of our Coporate and Commercial team sold Eadie Young Limited on behalf of the shareholders to the business that controls Streets Chartered Accountants, a top 40 UK firm of chartered accountants with 20 offices geographically spread from Manchester in the North to Brighton in the South. They have an annual fee income of £24m, 36 partners, and over 200 staff.
Due to the size of the merger and other variables there were considerable complexities involved, but we provided bespoke strategic, technical, and pragmatic advice on all legal aspects of the merger to ensure an extremely favourable outcome for both parties. The specifics of the work included advice on due diligence, employment, intellectual property, property, tax, competition, and regulation law. The firm also ensured a smooth transition enabling the continual growth, development, and supporting of their clients during the process.
The transaction was led by Hitendra Patel. Hitendra is a specialist M&A solicitor at Spratt Endicott whose expertise lies in advising corporate clients such as Eadie Young on complex and transformational transactions. Known for his highly responsive, flexible and exceptional commercial legal expertise, Hitendra collaborated with Eadie Young, Streets, and his colleagues at Spratt Endicott to ensure the deal ran smoothly. He was supported by Catherine O’Riordan, Associate of Spratt Endicott Corporate & Commercial practice, and Andrew Woods, Head of Commercial Property who managed the property aspects of the transaction.
Doug Eadie, Managing Director of Eadie Young Limited comments “Hitendra Patel at Spratt Endicott, is an outstanding technical lawyer with the knowledge and ability to swiftly and successfully conclude transactions. From the very beginning of our Merger transaction, he demonstrated a noteworthy level of expertise and dedication to his work. He listened carefully to our needs and concerns and provided us with strategic guidance that helped us navigate the complex legal landscape of mergers and acquisitions.
What I appreciated most about Hitendra was his ability to balance legal expertise with business acumen and client service. He didn’t just provide legal advice in a matter that was challenging to say the least, but also took the time to understand our business goals and objectives. This allowed him to provide us with solutions that not only protected our legal interests, but also aligned with our overall business strategy.
Throughout the entire process, Hitendra was professional, responsive, and proactive. He kept us informed every step of the way and was always available to answer our questions and concerns. His attention to detail was impressive, and he never missed a deadline or potential issue.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hitendra to anyone seeking a top commercial lawyer who truly cares about you and your business. He provided an outstanding level of service that enabled us to achieve a successful outcome that exceeded our expectations and is a true asset to any organisation. I would not hesitate to work with him again if the need ever arose.”
