SE-Solicitors acted for British Bakels on its acquisition of the business and assets of JF Renshaw Ltd from its administrators within the accelerated period of one week. The acquisition has secured the future of the JF Renshaw business and helped to save many jobs in the run-up to the Christmas period.
British Bakels is a manufacturer and distributer of bakery ingredients, and long-standing client of SE-Solicitors. JF Renshaw is a well-known manufacturer of food ingredients with a long, rich heritage.
The SE-Solicitors legal team was led by Corporate Director Hitendra Patel, a specialist in Mergers and Acquisitions and known for advising on complex and transformational transactions. Hitendra worked closely with other specialist teams at SE-Solicitors to ensure the smooth and rapid completion of the sale. Director Andrew Querelle assisted on the Commercial Property aspects, with Director Carol Shaw working on the Employment elements and Senior Associate Catherine O’Riordan supporting the Corporate and Banking details.
Paul Morrow, Chairman of British Bakels, comments ‘ buying a company from administration was a new experience for the British Bakels team. A very short window of opportunity opened for us. But by working to a brief of “minimise risk but do the deal” SE-Solicitors supported us through to a successful conclusion.”
