Welcome to the second edition of Oxford Insights, our quarterly newsletter where we continue to reflect on developments across Oxford and share perspectives on the issues shaping the legal and business landscape in the city.

Since launching our first issue earlier this year, our Oxford team has continued to grow.  One of the most significant developments has been welcoming Jonathan Heskia, who has joined our Oxford office as Director in the Corporate & Commercial team. With sharp commercial expertise across contracts, data protection and mergers and acquisitions, Jonathan brings a relationship-led approach that strengthens the support we offer to ambitious businesses across Oxfordshire.

We have also enjoyed further opportunities to connect with clients and business partners across Oxford. Our recent evening of drinks and canapés at the Ashmolean Museum was a particular highlight, bringing together familiar faces and new connections in one of the city’s most iconic settings. The conversations and energy in the room reflected the momentum we continue to see across Oxford’s professional community, and we delighted that so many joined us.

Our commitment to supporting the wider community extends beyond the professional sphere. We are pleased to have begun our sponsorship of Oxford Cricket Club, an organisation that plays a valued role in the city’s sporting and social life. We look forward to encouraging the club’s teams on throughout the season.

This issue also explores several themes that have been front of mind for our clients in recent months, such as international expansion, employment tribunals delays, inheritance tax planning and navigating Oxford’s property market from a personal perspective. We also reflect on our continued collaboration with Oxford Brookes Law School, including our involvement in the recent client interviewing competition, which remains an important part of our commitment to supporting the next generation of legal professionals.
